We welcome participants to the workshop From Ideas to Publication: Empowering Academic Research with Generative AI. In today’s rapidly evolving academic landscape, generative AI is transforming how research is conceptualized, conducted, and communicated. This workshop is designed to guide participants through the entire research journey—from the initial spark of an idea to producing a polished manuscript ready for submission. You'll learn how to harness AI tools for brainstorming, literature reviews, data analysis, academic writing, and citation management. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on exercises, we’ll explore practical ways to integrate AI into your workflow without compromising academic integrity. Whether you're a student, researcher, or educator, this session will equip you with the skills to streamline your research and elevate your scholarly output.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Md. Aminul Islam is a Professor in Finance in the College of Business Administration at PMU, KSA. Prof. Islam received his bachelor’s degree (BBA) from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 1993; Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2011 from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He also completed an advanced diploma in teaching in higher education from the Nottingham Trent University in 2001.
Dr. Islam has about 27 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, academic management, and publication. He has authored and co-authored about 210 journal papers and 66 conference papers, five books and three book chapters. His writings have so far attracted about 10,000 citations in Google scholar and 940,000 READS in the Researchgate. He is ranked among World’s Top 1% researchers in the Researchgate.
Dr Islam is a seasoned mentor who has guided 28 PhD and 10 postdoctoral researchers to successfully complete their studies. To date, he has assisted over 100 MBA students in finishing their dissertations. He is frequently featured as a speaker in international conferences, webinars, and workshops.
